Mbezi Group of churches visit Bethsaida

A group of Priests, pastors and glergy with their congregation (Catholic,Lutheran and Anglican) visited The orphanage on Suturday 20th February. Karibu tena Jena!

Jena Campbell the first long-term volunteer who was here for four month in 2008 came back to her Tanzanian home Bethsaida, during the two years she never stopped thinking about our school. The students and staff are happy to have her back. It feels good to see that people still care after such a long time. Thank you and welcome back Jena!

A new school year!

On the 18th of January the new school year 2010 started.
We welcome our newcomers of form one hope they will find a home at Bethsaida.
The students are motivated to go on studying hard in order to perform well and reach their goals.

First Eggs!

On the third of January our now grown up hens started to lay eggs. Every day we get more.
The girls already eat them and soon we’re going to sell them in order to cover a part of the teachers’ salary.

Betsy karibu!

After staying six weeks in India the new volunteer Betsy arrived at Bethsaida on the 2nd of November!
As she's almost a graduated teacher from USA/Georgia she'll do a great job, helping the girls.
She will stay with us for six weeks.
We are happy to have you here Betsi! Karibu sana!

Departure of form fours

On 15.10.09 form fours finished their national exams, after preparing a lot we think they all performed well!
Next Saturday, 24.10.09 they will leave the school, but we will see them again in January when they return for Computer lessons.

1st Graduation ceremony sept 19, 2009

The first Bethsaida graduation for form four students was held on 19th September 2009 at the school campus . The Guest of honour was his eminance Cardinal Pengo. Kathy goodbye!

Our volunteer friend Kathy from Australia left us on 21st of September.
During the two month she stayed with us she was supporting us a lot. For example she taught the girls how to sew.
Kathy also bought plants. So now our school looks much better.
She already announced to come back again next year.We're looking forward to see you again!
