Porter's School visit in June

Students and Teachers from Porter School of Connecticut USA are due to arrive in Tanzania for a visit to the Olof Palme Orphans Education Centre. During their visit they will be involved in the construction of a classroom for the school.

Picnic on Kigamboni

Vacations

Today, the vacations for all of Bethsaida's students have started. Form II and IV, having their very important National Examinations coming up in September, will already be returning after one week, whereas Form I and III stay with their guardians until 11 July.

Midterm Examinations 2009
25.-30.05.2009
This week all the students are having their Terminal Examinations for which they have been preparing themselves intensily in the last few weeks. After that, most of the students will go home for vacation.

Visit of Polycarp Pengo

Today, Bethsaida was honored by the visit of the Cardinal of Tanzania and Archbishop of Dar es Salaam, the Honorable Polycarp Pengo. Bethsaida also played host to over 200 members of the Chama Cha Utoto Mtakatifu, and Cardinal Pengo celebrated mass in our dining hall. CCBRT: Eye Examinations
Feburary 2009
Alex and Sarah, Bethsaida's year-long volunteers from Germany, have begun taking the girls to the CCBRT clinic in Dar to have their vision checked and glasses prescribed. Despite the long lines, many girls have expressed a new interest in studying optometry!
