Construction of Water Harvesting Tank
As part of their life skills education and in order to ensure that they get a balanced diet while at school, the girls are tending a vegetable garden with a variety of crops. Each girl has a plot to tend. However, the water supply from the school bore hole is salty and not good for vegetable gardening. Excessive salinity will render the soil to be barren with time. Since there is ample roofing surface, we deem it worthwhile to harvest rain water and store it for irrigating the vegetable garden in the dry season. A 150,000 litre capacity water tank would suffice for this endeavor.
Construction of Road Tanel
For the upper mentioned water harvesting tank we'd need a road tanel to carry the water to the tank.
Completion of Infirmary
The girls need appropriate medical and health care support including psychological, moral and spiritual guidance and counseling in order to shed off the stigmatization and trauma they had undergone as a result of societal neglect and abandonment that for many led into life in the street, drug and sex abuse and other vices. The rehabilitation sessions for the stigmatized and traumatized orphan girls are conducted while the pupils are in Forms 1 and 2. During the day medical services are provided at Mpigi Magohe government dispensary 2 km away from the school. At the end of 2011 a Volunteer Missionary Doctor arrived at school. For efficient and effective medical and health care support services to the girls, it is imperative for BOEC to construct an infirmary at the school.
Through well wishers efforts the construction of the infirmary has started, at the school. However, completion of the building requires the placement of a ceiling, floor, room partitioning, doors, wall painting, electrical installations and fixtures in terms of piped water, sinks and toilets and the provision of furniture.
BOEC Office
BOEC has been managing its affairs from a borrowed office on the 1st Floor of TANMEC building, Mandela Road (Port Access Road), Dar Es Salaam. In order to efficiently and effectively perform its functions, BOEC now desires to have its own office on its landed property at Mpigi Magohe area, Msakuzi Ward, Kinondoni Municipality, Dar Es Salaam. Through well wishers efforts the construction of the office structure has started, at the Bethsaida Girls’ Secondary School premises. However, completion of the building requires the placement of a ceiling, windows, room partitioning, doors, wall painting, electrical installations and furniture.
