Future dreams:
Donatilla really wants to become a doctor. She hopes to become a Cardiologist, because up to now there are only two cardiologists in all Tanzania. Most of the people have to be brought to India for an operation. She wants to be a doctor who treats people in Tanzania and Africa.
Hobbies:
Donatilla loves singing gospel songs. She likes reading novels –especially about the Saints (e.g. book of Saint Augustin). She enjoys chatting with her friends very much.
Her parents:
Donatilla’s father has mental disease. He lives alone and has no work. He asks people on the street for food. Donatilla didn’t know him when she was young. When she visits him he is always very happy, but having a real conversation with him is not possible. Donatilla’s mother died in 1994 because of mental disease or possibly a dog biting her. Her mother was married to another man before she became sick and they had a son. Donatilla grew up with her mother and her grandmother because her mother couldn’t care for her.
Her siblings:
Donatilla has one halfbrother who is 27. He also has a mental disease and can’t work anymore.
Her guardian:
Donatilla’s guardian is her grandfather, who is a very polite man, as she says.
How Donatilla came to Bethsaida:
Donatilla came to Bethsaida in 2005. She heard of Bethsaida in church. Her uncle brought her to the interiew and tests. Her parish helped her with money for a bedsheet, schooluniform and counter books.
What Donatilla wants others to know about her:
Donatilla wants others to know that she is studying hard and wants to praise lord all over the world so that all people turn to god. She loves her dad and her brother although they have the mental disease. She says: “I love them how they are!”.
