Happy Bimba
Form IV
Muha Tribe (Kigoma Region)
Born 14 February 1989 in Dar es Salaam
Favorite subjects:
History, English, Kiswahili and Geography
Future dreams:
Happy would very much like to become a lawyer. She couldn’t explain exactly why, she just said, “the wish just became very firm in my heart!” She wants to defend and help innocently charged people. Her non-professional dream is to get married as soon as she has finished all her studies and arranged her future life.
Hobbies:
Happy loves to pray. When she has free time, she likes to have some time for herself in which she reads books or does some exercises.
Her parents:
Happy can remember neither her mother nor her father. Her mother died when Happy was three years old, her father even before that. In both cases Happy doesn’t know what caused their deaths.
Her siblings:
Happy has no siblings, but she has four cousins.
Her guardian:
After Happy’s mother had died, Happy’s aunt started taking care of her. Unfortunately, the aunt’s husband died in 2003. Since then it has become very difficult for the aunt to take care of all her children and Happy. Although they never have enough money, they at least have a good relationship.
How Happy came to Bethsaida:
After she had finished Primary School, Happy started working as a housegirl for the daughter of one of her teachers. She got paid (even though very little), was living in the daughter’s household and treated in an acceptable way, but all she could think about was her wish to continue with Secondary Education. When her new ‘boss’ heard about Bethsaida in an announcement she told Happy about it and sent her here to get interviewed, tested and accepted. Happy's wish had come true!
What Happy wants others to know about her:
“I don’t want to have to work as a housegirl again, so I really hope that somebody can sponsor my further Secondary Education. I want to have a better life in order to be able to help other orphans later as there are more coming after me. Also, I would like to be able to support my cousins and my aunt as it was her who helped me since my parents’ death.”
