Future dreams:

When she grows up, Innocencia wants to be a tour guide in order to show people around her beautiful country.

Hobbies:

Innocencia enjoys playing netball with her schoolmates on Bethsaida’s sports ground. She also likes listening to music and chatting with her friends whenever she has the time.

Her parents:

Innocencia’s father died when Innocencia was still very young. She can’t remember him at all and all she knows is that he was a business man and that he died in a car accident. Her mother died when she was five years old, during a stomach operation in the Mt. Meru hospital.

Her siblings:

Innocencia has one brother (Dennis) who currently attends Form I in a secondary school back in Nakuru.

Her guardian:

Innocencia’s guardian is her aunt from her mother’s side. She took care of her after her mother’s death and enabled Innocencia to get a primary and secondary education.

How Innocencia came to Bethsaida:

Until her mother’s death, Innocencia lived in Nakuru, close to the Kenyan border in the north. After that, her aunt took her to Dar es Salaam in order to take care of her and send her to primary school. When Innocencia heard an announcement about Bethsaida on the radio, she realized that this school would be her only opportunity for secondary education. She took the chance, came for an interview – and passed.

What Innocencia wants others to know about her:

For Innocencia, attending Forms V and VI is incredibly important, as it is “my ambition to reach Oxford University”.
