Future dreams:
Lilian dreams to be a lawyer to defend human rights. She is good in the art stream; science is not one of her strong points. With the money she earns later, she wants to support her young brother and sister. Lilian wants to stay single in her future life, because being married “is like slavery”.
Hobbies:
Lilian loves playing netball and singing and dancing to Gospel Music.
Her parents:
Lilian’s father died in 1994 of Malaria. Because her mother was working all the time, she was not able to care of the family very much. She died in 1998, also of Malaria. After her mother’s death Lilian’s aunt started taking her of her, so that she could go to school. After school, she had to work as a house girl there and didn’t go to bed before 11 o’clock.
Her siblings:
Lilian has one younger sister and a young brother. She hasn’t seen them for five years.
Her guardian:
Lilian's guardian is one of her aunts who lives in Dar es Salaam. The relationship between them is very good and Lilian always gets enough food and care when she goes home to her aunt’s house during vacation.
How Lilian came to Bethsaida:
After having finished Primary School in 2004, Lilian’s aunt from Dar es Salaam called her in order to tell her about an announcement about Bethsaida she had heard in the radio. So Lilian came to here, got interviewed and tested and finally accepted at the school.
What Lilian wants others to know about her:
Lilian says: “I wish to have a sponsor for form V and VI and go to university later. When I’m employed I want to help my brother and sister and other people who need it.”
