How You Can Help

As you can imagine we are happy about any kind of support we get, be it by donating money, volunteering, sending clothes or anything else. Below you will find different ways of how you can help our school, but these are only some suggestions. If you have any other ideas about how you can support Bethsaida, please contact the chairman of OPOEC, Mr. Michael Machary: mmachary@oloforphans.org.

If you are interested in donating money, there are two different ways to do so:

. Aidmatrix is a safe, electronic form to transfer funds to our account. Please click on the item to choose the amount of money you would like to give and follow the instructions given.

Bank Transfer. For safety reasons we do not publish our bank account information online. If you would like to transfer money directly from your bank account to our bank account, please contact Mr. Michael Machary mmachary@oloforphans.org. He will give you any additional information you may need.

Thank you for any donations you can manage. They help us to educate and care for our exceptional students. We are so grateful to you and any donors for your generosity and consideration.

Please be aware, however, that the funds you donate will be used as the managing staff and Board of Directors deem appropriate and best for the girls and the school as a whole. Some donors, in the past, have wished funding to go to a particular girl or for a particular purpose. If this is your desire, it should be discussed with and approved by our Chairman, Mr. Michael Machary, first. This policy is in keeping with our desire to show equal consideration to all our girls.

Help us with our Projects

We have some projects in mind to improve life conditions and effectivity of Bethsaida.

Information about the projects we desire to finish is available here.

Buy A CD

Our girls have beautiful voices. Being aware of that, Mr. Machary, our devoted chairman, has recorded some of the girls singing songs the lyrics for which they wrote themselves!

In the meantime we have already recorded two CDs and one DVD of our girls singing.

At the moment we are trying to get the girls' CDs andDVDs to different countries of the world to make it easier, faster and cheaper (!) to send them to you.

If you are interested in one (or more) of the girls' CDs/DVDs, please contact us.

Bethsaida Card Project

Bethsaida students have many talents and one of them is creating beautiful greeting cards for all occasions. The "card project" has been in place since September 2010 and through the dedication of a small group of girls who produce the cards, the project is gaining recognition within the Dar es Salaam community.

There are many positive aspects of this project, i.e. the girls are using their creativity, they get to socialise outside of Bethsaida and most importantly they are generating revenue to assist in paying teacher's wages at Bethsaida. To date, the greeting cards have been sold through aritsan markets in Dar es Salaam and to members of the ex-patriot community. There is the potential to market the "Bethsaida Cards" through local shops, markets, hotels & lodges in Tanzania and in the long term overseas.

Limited resources are available in Tanzania, therefore in order to continue producing the cards, Bethsaida requires help with donations of materials. The project is in need of the following items; small print or solid coloured lightweight papers, narrow ribbons (plain or patterned), double sided tape, glue, various sized envelopes, cardboard and any other embellishments which may be used in card making.

Donations may be given in person or mailed to Bethsaida, P.O. Box 5237, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Asante sana for your support to the valued project.

Collect Items Of Need On Our Behalf

Buying quality products is exceptionally difficult in a developing country like Tanzania. From articles of clothing to art supplies to multi-vitamins to running shoes and sports bras, the need here is great. This is an especially helpful effort for coming volunteers - they can both collect, and transport in their luggage, donations for our girls.

If you are not sure whether something you would like to donate is useful for our girls or not – please contact our chairman: Mr. Michael Machary: Michael.Machary@oloforphans.org

Host A Gathering

Getting family, friends, and colleagues interested in Bethsaida can really make a difference. Sharing our story, and raising money at the same time, can be a great help. Returned volunteers are happy to share their stories, their photographs, and even themselves to speak at such an event.

If you would like somebody to speak at such an event, please contact our chairman: Mr. Michael Machary: Michael.Machary@oloforphans.org, to see if there are any former volunteers living in your area.
